The News Editor copy-edits daily news items, feature articles and in-depth analyses in English for a news provision program focused on Afghanistan, Pakistan and the ex-Soviet states in Central Asia. Content is published on multiple websites and social media accounts in English, Dari, Pashto, Russian and Urdu.The News Editor’s primary task is to ensure that content adheres to established style and thematic guidelines. Other tasks include researching and writing news content, monitoring the regional media outlets, finding and analyzing instances of content propagation, assisting in the management of reader comments, posting content to supporting social media accounts, and other tasks as assigned by the managing editor. Occasional evening or weekend work could be required. Education Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism or a related discipline. Qualifications 2-5 years of related experience in writing, editing and/or journalism. Experience and language skills related to the region are preferred but not required.
