JOB SUMMARY:

    Basic Education Requirement: All applicants must meet the following basic education requirement: a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field; OR at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.

    NOTE: The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) does not grant Academic degrees; therefore courses completed at the DAU are not creditable towards meeting the 24 semester hour requirement, unless the course work has been evaluated by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and appears on a college or university transcript.

    Additional Requirements:

    For the GS-11:

    In addition to the basic education requirements above, the following additional experience and/or education is required:

    Specialized Experience: Applicants at the GS-11 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level. Specialized experience includes independently reviewing requisitions and determining the appropriate method of procurement; using a variety of contract methods and types (e.g., fixed-price, cost reimbursement, best value, etc.) to plan and carry out the procurement of products and services; negotiating contract modifications, deviations, or extensions; performing proposal analysis to determine responsiveness and responsibility; and developing solicitation documents, procurement plans, and final contracts.

    OR

    Education: To substitute education for specialized experience, completion of 3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related. To qualify on the basis of graduate education, graduate education in one or a combination of the following fields is required: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization management.

    OR

    Combination: Possess a combination of education and experience.

    Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

    National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    You are required to submit your unofficial college transcripts from an appropriately accredited educational institution in order to document completion of the educational requirements for this position.
