Accounting Manager, Banking
Summary PenFed is hiring an Accounting Manager, Banking in our Alexandria location. The primary purpose of this job is to lead the activities of the Bank Reconciliation and Cash departments, implementing new procedures to enhance the efficiency of processes and ensuring compliance with all related regulations, policies and procedures. Research the application of complex accounting procedures and standards for implementation department wide. Administer workload of the team; resolve system and processing issues as they occur.
Lead the team in processing monthly General Ledger closing.
Generate general ledger banking and cash reconciliation(s) obtaining the inventory of bank statements and activity statements.
Manage US GAAP monitoring sources for guidance on current banking and cash management topics, including parent and non-consolidating CUSO requirements.
Coordinate with branch and operations teams to identify problems and procedural issues and can be augmented or eliminated to improve operations.
Administer training and development of the team members; develop goals, measurements and standards based on department goals.
Research and recommend strategic and tactical changes in work processes to improve the level and quality of documents received and to improve timeliness of payments received and credited to PenFed accounts.
As a Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field is required and/or accounting certification.
Minimum of five (5) years’ of experience in accounting and financial reporting is required.
This position may or may not supervise employees.
CPA or candidate preferred.
