The mission of the National Disaster Recovery Support (NDRS) cadre is to help coordinate federal post-disaster recovery planning and implementation in support of state, tribal, territorial and local efforts. The Recovery Coordination Specialist (Stakeholder Development) contributes to the potential rebuilding efforts of an impacted community by supporting collaborative dialog among stakeholders, collecting information required for decision making, and assisting with problem solving. EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
STAFFORD ACT EXCEPTED SERVICE APPOINTMENTS: The Reservist Program is an appointment type granted under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, Section 306 (b), which authorizes FEMA to appoint such temporary employees as necessary to accomplish work authorized under the Act. Appointments under this authority within FEMA are made to the excepted service and are nonpermanent in nature. This is a temporary appointment in the Excepted Service, not to exceed 2 years. Employment is on an intermittent basis. Veterans’ preference does not apply to the reservist program selection process.

To qualify for this position, you must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field (examples: Business, Public Administration, Marketing, International Development, Emergency Management)
- A minimum of five years related work experience involving multi-stakeholder government engagements, at the national, state, or tribal level, under politically sensitive conditions
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Public Trust - Background Investigation
In this position, you will serve as part of a multi-disciplinary team that contributes to the potential rebuilding efforts of an impacted community. Typical assignments include:
- Developing strategic and detailed operational plans in coordination with federal, tribal, state, and local leadership.
- Assisting federal partners in navigating the challenges of disaster recovery planning, staffing, resourcing, information sharing, and meeting coordination.
- Conducting assessments of disaster recovery impacts, needs, and community conditions and capacity.
- Facilitating the identification and tracking of issues and collaborative problem solving
