Description:  Maintains and/or provides guidance for accurately tracking assets (hardware, software, and intangible) as Configuration Items within the SOCOM J6 Remedy Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB).


Responsibilities:  Ensure that the Configuration/Asset Management Process is used correctly within the SITEC Enterprise Networks program as prescribed by the Configuration Management Process Owner and the the Configuration Manager.

  • Be informed of the objectives and activities of the various support groups
  • Coordinate initial identification of CIs within the sections of the program
  • Ensure the Process, procedures, work instructions and tools are optimal from a programmatic point of view
  • Propagate the correct use of Configuration Management process 
  • Use or provide the CMS data to facilitate Impact Assessment for RFCs and to ensure that implemented Changes are authorized
  • Ensures all new CIs are added to the database
  • Ensures regular housekeeping of the CMS databases
  • Enters and reports (status) modifications to CIs resulting from their activities
  • Signals and reports any deviation detected in the IT infrastructure from the status and/or composition as registered in the CMDB
  • Executes CI identification and CI verification activities
  • Engages with other departments to keep an up-to-date view on their objectives and activities
  • Coordinates Configuration Management issues with other departments when needed
  • Identifies improvement opportunities within the department
  • Assists the Configuration Manager when proposing enhancements
  • Identifies specific training needs within the department, and signals these needs to the Configuration Management Process Manager  
  • Communicates changes to the Process within the department and promotes use of the changed process
Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


Certifications preferred:

Security+ CE

ITIL V3 Release, Control & Validate (RCV) Intermediate

ITIL V3 Foundations

Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis, or 2-5 years of related experience in a technical field.
