Faculty Services Assistant, Faculty Services, Law Library - Georgetown University Law Center

The Faculty Services Assistant has primary duties in the Library Research Services Department, secondary duties in the Reference and International Departments, and tertiary duties in other library areas where patron services are centered.  Reporting to the Head of Library Research Services, the Faculty Services Assistant has duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Provides support and services to Library patrons specifically through the Library Research Services, Reference, and International departments.
  • Assists with the day-to-day activities of the Library Research Services Department, including research assistance, responding to requests from faculty and administrators for the physical and electronic delivery of books, journal articles, and other materials from the Library's collection.
  • Performs quality-control inventories of all completed document delivery requests before delivery to faculty.
  • Provides support for the research and associated activities in the Reference and International Departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Related work experience in a legal or library setting
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet computer applications

Preferred qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of legal electronic resources such as Lexis and Westlaw
  • Knowledge of law and/or legal materials
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
