Director of Doctoral Field Education and Therapy Service Coordinator

Job Description

THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for the Director of Doctoral Field Education and Therapy Service Coordinator (DFETSC) to begin January 2nd, 2018. Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and overseeing clinical placements for 3rd and 4th year Psy.D. students (Note: 1st and 2nd year students conduct field education at the Loyola Clinical Centers with Loyola full-time and adjunct faculty). This non-tenure track clinical faculty position provides oversight and coordination for student clinical placement at sites external to the university, as well as coordination of therapy services and clinical supervision of graduate students in therapy at the Loyola Clinical Centers. The responsibilities of this position comprise 40% of a full-time 12-month clinical faculty appointment with the remainder of the time comprised of classroom teaching or clinical supervision, in addition to service to the University such as serving on the doctoral program committee. The successful candidate must possess: (1) an earned doctorate (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; (2) a license as a psychologist in the state of Maryland; (3) excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills; (4) knowledge of and experience working with networks of mental health providers in the Baltimore metropolitan area; (5) ability to supervise the clinical training of graduate students; (6) ability to teach graduate courses in counseling/psychotherapy and other areas of expertise; (7) knowledge about the licensure process at both the master's and doctoral levels, and (8) an awareness of and interest in the educational mission of Jesuit higher education.
