CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER
The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) located in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a visionary, and engineering-centric leader to build a comprehensive and sophisticated program to ensure the security of Virginia Medicaid Program’s deployed solutions, critical information, and other data assets, and build upon that security discipline to better serve the agency and its million plus Virginia beneficiaries. This position manages and directs the agency's overall IT security policies and procedures, applications and network security issues; supervising staff who will assist and/or carry out relevant information security system functions such as protecting, detecting and correcting controls for IT systems, disseminating relevant security information to staff and partners, administering security-related training, and conducting security investigations. Qualified applicants must possess a thorough understanding of information security practices and policies, applications and network security issues. Requires considerable knowledge of, and experience in, security administration, including day-to-day knowledge of the operation of security devices (hardware and software). Requires experience in the development and maintenance of security policy, procedures and plans.
