Westat has an opening for a Research Associate to join our health services research group. The Research Associate will work with a multidisciplinary team of health services researchers focused on evaluations of innovative health delivery interventions and alternative payment models; measuring health system performance and quality of care; and health outcomes studies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conducting data management and statistical analyses, including survey data analyses; collaborating with senior scientists, statisticians, research analysts and programmers in implementing analysis plans; contributing to writing technical reports summarizing analytic methodologies and analytic findings, memos, scientific publications and presentations, and grant and contract proposals.
A bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, sociology, economics or related social science field
12 years of demonstrated experience in quantitative data analysis using SAS and/or STATA.
The successful candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to take initiative, able to work on a breadth of activities, and must work independently and in teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills are essential.
Experience with R is a plus, as well as health care claims data and/or EHR data is a plus.
