General Dynamics is seeking a talented Proposal Manager in Fairfax VA. 

 

Manages the development and revision of proposals and supervises proposal team.

  1. Manages all activities involved in the development and revision of large proposals, usually involving one or more groups/sections/sectors and subcontractors.

 2. Thoroughly reviews Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop Proposal Plan.

 3. Responsible for implementation within the proposal of the capture/win strategy in conjunction with the Capture Manager and Business Development personnel.

 4. Coordinates proposal reviews with management.

 5. Identifies adequate resources are available to support proposal development and production efforts.

 6. Reviews/rewrites proposal inputs and coordinates with technical personnel to ensure accuracy.

 7. Coordinates organization-wide resources to support proposal efforts including purchasing, contracts, facilities, etc.

 8. Ensures proposal compliance with solicitation requirements.

 9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and practices involved in proposal development.

 10. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Bachelors Degree in a related business discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related experience managing proposal efforts in a government contracting environment.

 

Familiarity with government FAR/DFAR in response to proposal submissions; shipley or related processses required.

APMP certification desired, not required.

 

Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of proposal development, including technical research, writing and editing.

Comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and customer base.

Effective communications skills.

 

Up to 20% travel within the US.
