Location: Largo, MD

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is searching for a Collegiate Faculty member for the Doctor of Management program in The Graduate School. UMUC is one of 11 degree-granting institutions in the University System of Maryland (USM). Working adults, military personnel, and other students around the globe are achieving their academic goals through UMUC's innovative educational options, including online instruction, accelerated academic programs, and classroom-based courses taught during the daytime, evenings, and weekends. Currently, more than 42,000 students attend UMUC nationally, and an additional 33,852 students attend UMUC at on site classes in more than 25 countries throughout the world; about 56,000 students are active duty military, veterans, and their families. In 2013, UMUC had over 261,000 online course enrollments.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • The Collegiate Faculty, Doctor of Management is responsible for teaching the equivalent of five (5) 6-credit hour courses over the fall, winter, spring and summer semesters.
  • The Vice Dean may grant a release of up to 12 credits per year to complete curriculum and program development, dissertation advising and other administrative duties.
  • Attendance at meetings at the direction of the Vice Dean.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a terminal degree in a related profession from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Minimum of three (3) years managerial/professional experience in related field.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Teaching experience at the doctoral level is preferred.
  • Advising doctoral students on dissertations is preferred.
  • 10-15 years of industry or business experience, with preference towards Scholar-Practitioners.
