General Dynamics IT is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team!

The chosen candidate will perform a range of duties to include but not be limited to:

  • Managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintaining the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Setting up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintaining system documentation
  • Interacting with users and evaluating vendor products.
  • Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinating installation and providing backup recovery.
  • Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Programming in an administrative language (may be required).
  • Overseeing implementation of testing strategies and documentation of results.
  • Providing advice and training to end-users.
  • Providing guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members (role may encompass supervisory responsibilities.)
  • Serving as a technical team or task leader.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participating in special projects as required.
Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 10-15 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

 REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Extensive knowledge (5 years experience) of implementing and supporting Microsoft Windows network.
  • General knowledge of using project management methodologies. Ability to work independently on problems and projects; and participate as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in planning, preparing and developing procedures, process documents and other forms of documentation.
  • Active Directory GPO Management
  • Windows server 2008\2012
  • SCCM 2007\2012 
  • SharePoint 2010/2013
 

PREFERRED SKILLS: VMWare, Netbackup, CITRIX, WSUS, Unix/Linux, MS Exchange, Powershell 

 

** Position will require on call support and occasional night and weekend work.**
