The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) seeks a Policy Analyst to provide high level support to the Policy and Government Affairs team for a variety of initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include providing research, analysis and consultation regarding regulatory and legislative affairs related to higher education policy and expertise to the Directors of Policy and Government Affairs; creating and implementing mechanisms to share analyses (e.g. dashboards, fact sheets, policy briefs) in broadly accessible formats for a variety of stakeholders. Duties include managing the collection and analysis of internal data for report development; assisting Policy Director in staffing the Health Policy Advisory Council and managing the publication of Inside Academic Nursing.
The analyst will also respond to requests from federal agencies; support and track statistics, research, and trends in nursing/higher education and health policy as it relates to AACN’s federal policy agenda; and coordinate relationships with higher education and health care associations and coalitions.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and at least 3 years of experience, preferably in a non-profit association and/or in higher education policy setting. Candidate must have experience in policy research, and evaluation, Stata and SPSS, and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
