Job Description: Java EE Engineer (Active Secret Clearance) Position Description The Software Engineer will develop support Enterprise Java Beans and simular software packages to facilitate the interchange of Electronic Health Records between government agencies. Your future duties and responsibilities Support end users with the ability to search for patient information through web application from a web browser as well as a legacy system. The patient data that is retrieved includes the DoD, VA, and Community Health Partners.Integrate COTS packages including data mapping tools, viewer portals, and identity management tools.Analyze and study complex system requirements.Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques, and source code quality (SCQC) tools.Estimate software development costs and schedule.Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.Supervise software configuration management.Installation of Web Applications. Required qualifications to be successful in this roleBS/BA in Computer Science, MIS or other related field desired7-10 years in software development, including 3 years in a lead roleProficiency with Java EE, JBoss EAP, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, WS Frameworks, SOAP, REST, Oracle DB, GlassFish, WebSphereAbility to work on and off client site, as needed, between Rosslyn VA and Reston VAInstallers will be proficient Windows system administrators who can use the Windows command prompt (CMD) with confidence and accuracy.Installing the Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV) Data Services requires considerable expertise with IBM WebSphere (WAS).
