Physical Therapist (Inpatient) - PRN/CPT / Day Shift (8a-4:30p)
Job Description: Evaluates patients, neonatal through geriatric, for physical therapy services and provides therapeutic intervention according to departmental standards. Assesses the appropriateness and effectiveness of services provided to patients and documents same according to departmental standards and the special needs of patients of all ages.Performs physical therapy evaluations and treatments; develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient's rehabilitation needs within the care continuum and according to departmental policies and procedures.Demonstrates the ability and required competencies to cross cover, ie, evaluate and treat patients with a variety of diagnoses in various units.Documents physical therapy evaluations and treatments according to departmental standards.Provides technical supervision, direction, and support to staff Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Aides, students, and volunteers.Meets departmental productivity standards.Assign appropriate patient charges for Physical Therapy services based on established departmental charge master guidelines.Consults with and serves as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of physical therapy and to identify the need for physical therapy services for patients of all ages.Completes materials related to Joint Commission preparedness and productivity logs in a timely manner.Maintains Physical Therapy state license, CPR, TB testing, and HealthStream according to departmental policies.Complies with departmental procedures for CompassParticipates in other designated projects or roles under the direction of Inpatient Rehabilitation Services leadership.Participate in departmental process improvement initiatives (huddle, metrics, innovative ideas). Required Minimum Experience: Previous acute care experience. Required Minimum Education : Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Required Licensure/Certification : Current license in Physical Therapy by the Board of Physical Therapy Examiners of Maryland. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications : Previous acute care experience; however, new graduates will be considered, dependent on current departmental staffing.
