Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Compliance Specialist performs a risk management role by ensuring the Bank complies with all applicable laws and regulations. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing compliance advice, risk based reviews, and training for the Mortgage Business Line as a subject matter expert. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Providing subject matter expertise and guidance on mortgage compliance requirements;Enhancing business line compliance knowledge through individual and group training;Assessing breakdowns for compliance risk and provides guidance on remediation/recovery plans;Providing guidance on controls over compliance requirements and business line monitoring;Performing risk-based reviews of business line controls and providing guidance on identified risks.Desired Skills, Competencies and Education:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.Minimum of 3 or more years work experience and knowledge in mortgage lending and/or compliance.Detailed knowledge of State and Federal banking compliance regulations and related Bank policies to include Equal Credit Opportunity Act, TILA RESPA Integrated Disclosure Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, SAFE Act, Flood Insurance, Fair Lending, Privacy, Community Reinvestment Act, and Others.Conducts targeted reviews at the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer.Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to independently conduct meetings.Ability to organize, create, and independently present compliance training to individuals and groups.Excellent organizational skills to include time management.Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to handle multiple projects.Ability to work independently and as a member of a Team.Professional demeanor in both Public Speaking, Meetings, and Phone Support.Occasional travel between Bank Offices may be required.PC proficient.
