Job Summary: Provides direct nursing care to patients of the assigned clinic/practice in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Responsibilities:Implements and monitors patient care plans.Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.Assesses and coordinates patient's continued care needs with members of the healthcare team.Manages fluctuating patient volumes and provides the initial evaluation and assessment in preparation for surgery.Maintains an adequate stock of medical and clinical supplies and uses resources wisely to maximize operational efficiency.Contributes to defining, directing and evaluating the nursing care and functions for clinical staff; serves as a lead for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.Develops, implements, and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.Collects and performs analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of data including preoperative readiness, delays and cancellations related to suboptimal preparation of patient.Works with management to identify metrics to analyze cost effectiveness and return on investments.Participates in project planning and assists with prioritizing process improvement opportunities.Identifies, develops, documents and implements standardized work instructions and educates staff on new processes. Qualifications Licenses/Certifications/Registration:Required Credential(s):BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. CAPA, or ASPAN Certification Preferred Education:Associate DegreeBSN preferred and 3 years of experience as an RN1 year of experience in Pre-Admission Surgery Clinic or on a Pre-Op Unit.
