Job Description:Convenient to Friendship Heights MetroMedStar Ambulatory Services, Inc., the outpatient services division of MedStar Health, has exciting opportunities for experienced Medical Assistants to join the team at our new multispecialty care center located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. MedStar Ambualtory Services is looking for Medical Assistants committed to providing high quality medical care and exceptional service to patients. The Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with policies and procedures, in a unique, state-of-the-art, easily accessible Ambulatory setting. Works under the supervision of a physician and performs patient triage, venipuncture, laboratory testing, patient follow up, assisting providers with patient exams, while providing a patient experience that exceeds our patient's expectations. This position documents as appropriate in the medical records and supports optimal patient flow. Ability to work with 4 or more Specialty areas as needed. Must have knowledge base of multispecialty areas and high degree of flexibility and willingness to learn. Qualifications EDUCATION: High school graduation or equivalent; completion of an approved Medical Assistant program. EXPERIENCE: Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting; experience working with electronic medical records preferred. LICENSE/CERT/REG: CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) by American Association of Medical Assistants or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) through American Medical Technologies. CPR certification. SKILLS: Clinical competency as verified during the initial 90 day orientation period and annually thereafter. Excellent customer service/patient interaction skills; computers and electronic medical record skills and ability to function in a variable multi-specialty clinical setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to multitask and work with several physicians in different specialties.
