AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Technical Project Manager to support our customers. This position is located on-site with the customer in their Washington, DC office. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have diverse IT project experience and must be well-versed in managing the full systems development life cycle within an Agile framework. The Project Manager will provide management oversight of a database operations and enhancement project for our Government customer. Sound leadership and information technology project management skills are necessary for success. The Project Manager will be responsible for the full management scope of responsibilities for the assigned contract. This includes the overall performance and success of the project including, but not limited to: the day-to-day management of overall contract; managing financial and administrative aspects of the contract; project staffing, staff assignments, performance management; deliverables, customer relations, internal reporting, and risk management. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Being instrumental in recruiting, staffing, and onboarding technical resources Communicating effectively with the client on a regular basis Effectively leading technical professionals Effectively leading the deployment and release management processes Identifying, reporting, monitoring, and mitigating risks to the program Managing the customer relationship and providing project direction and leadership Managing to cost, schedule, and performance Performing functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships Providing comprehensive periodic management reports to the customer Translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences Working with all stakeholders to scope work, identify appropriate resources, track and report progress, develop schedules, and communicate to customers Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, systems, business, or related scientific or technical discipline At least ten (10) years of professional experience with a minimum of five (5) years of IT project management Strong understanding of database systems, business intelligence, and data warehousing Hands-on Oracle experience, specifically with OBIEE Demonstrated experience with ingestion, ETL, tagging, processing, analytics, and visualization of unstructured data Experience with Agile Scrum and Kanban Able to define and implement project metrics for scope, schedule, cost, and quality Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Solid interpersonal skills; demonstrable team building skills Strong financial and budget management skills Experience must also include: o Excellent troubleshooting skills o Knowledge and experience with software development lifecycle and processes o Must be familiar with risk management and have a proven track record in successful project execution o Proven leadership ability Must be able to travel when needed US Citizenship is required as is successfully passing a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting Desired Qualifications: * Previous Department of Veterans Affairs experience Agile project management experience, specifically with VA's software development lifecycle and Veteran-focused Integration Process (VIP) PMP IBM Rational experience
