Systems Engineer, Sr Principal
Job Description:POSITION SUMMARY:As a recognized company authority, provides both internal and external consulting services. Works independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments/applications. RESPONSIBILTIES:The Candidate will be serving as a member of the Office under the clients program manager. The Candidate will serve on a system engineering team that will develop, design, build, deploy enterprise and platform infrastructure and provide compute automation system engineering services for cloud and hybrid systems. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience being responsible for technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. 2. Minimum 10 + years of demonstrated on-the-job systems engineering experience to include 7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and knowledge of engineering policies and procedures. 3. (10+ years) demonstrated on-the-job experience supporting UNIX/Linux and Windows servers, including Windows 2008R2/2012, Windows 7, XP, Solaris 10 and CentOS/RedHat 5/6; building and supporting Red Hats virtual file system, Logical Volume Manager (LVM); formulating root cause analysis for outages or server errors. 4. (3+ years) demonstrated experienced in engineering/designing/deploying/maintaining a Splunk Cluster environment for collecting audit logs, syslog, and custom applications logs; ability to setup a deployment server for efficient management of Splunk forwarders and Splunk TAs installed on clients; ability to customize Splunk Apps to fit customer needs. (Splunk Enterprise 4.0+\5.0+\6.0+) 5. Demonstrated on-the-job experienced in implementing, maintaining Tintri Flash Storage Arrays to include integrating with VMWARE and performing snapshots, clones and restores; ability to troubleshoot storage issues at the OS level 6. (5+ years) demonstrated on-the-job experience in VMware vSphere Virtualization and Cloud infrastructure. (4.0+\5.0+\6.0)to include creating, building and managing Virtual Machines, datastores, and deploying ESX infrastructure 7. Demonstrated on-the-job experience engineering a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) using VMware with Horizon to include creating custom virtual desktops, while keeping a standard OS/software baseline 8. Demonstrated on-the-job experience implementing/configuring/maintaining several tools/technologies to include: * Nagios * Webmin * x509 Server Certificates * Apache HTTP Server * Apache Tomcat Server * Atlassian * LimeSurvey * OpenLdap * Cobbler/Kickstart * Jumpstart 9. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with network engineering for multiple Sponsors partners with logical and physical design, and implementation of infrastructure throughout multiple networks. Clearance level required is a TS/SCI w/Poly. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
