CACI NSS, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Test Engineer to provide cutting edge services within the Intelligence Community. Develop and execute software test plans in order to identify software problems and their causes. Responsible for ensuring that the test design and documentation support all applicable client, Sponsors or industry standards time lines and requirements. Responsible for ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and project managers are fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements. Prepares milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on the system test and evaluation concept to management, colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives. Tasks Perform analysis of documented user requirements and directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements for software or IT systems. Review user application system requirements documentation Design, define and document unit and application test plans Direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware solution engineering and development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection. Coordinate with team members to ensure problem solution, appropriate risk reduction, and user satisfaction. Make recommendations, if needed, on test and evaluation strategies for major systems installations. Estimate software-testing schedule for each assigned project. Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments. Design and implement test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Develop or specify standards, methods, and procedures to determine product quality or release readiness. Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, interface testing, regression testing, negative results testing, error or bug tests and retests, and customer and administrator usability. Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards. Evaluate or recommend software for testing or bug tracking to include test automation where applicable. Identify program deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance. Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content. Install, maintain, and use software testing (manual and automated) programs. Participate in product design and sprint planning sessions to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems as associated with the test cycle. Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, database, or code pieces to determine breakdown source. Plan test schedules using quantifiable processes and strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality. Perform regression testing after deployment to verify success. Create and/or update automated test scripts to ensure currency. Coordinate user or third party testing. Conduct historical analyses of test results. Provide technical support during software installation or configuration related to testing. Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, and to mitigate risks. Validate with the developer that source code is following established development processes such as in source documentation and program name / version number. Reference: EIT3HP EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a bachelor's degree with an advanced degree desired and a minimum of 12 to 15 years experience in a specific field of test engineering. Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret / SCI with Polygraph US government security clearance. Required Minimum of 6 years of experience testing application software / systems . Ability to translate customer or systems requirements into test cases . Proven ability to write/develop manual and automated test cases . Proven ability to write/develop test plans and test reports Proven ability to conduct manual and automated testing against test plans . Excellent written/verbal communication skills Excellent analytical skills . Ability to work independently and within a team Aptitude to learn and understand new software and systems Knowledge of technologies such as Windows, Linux, Java, Borne Shell Scripting Desired Experience with Project Management Control Gates . Experience with Security Documentation .
