Position Overview: Within the Global Tools & Storage division of Stanley Black & Decker we are currently looking for a Structural Packaging Engineer to join our department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a global team of talented designers, engineers and product managers. You will support our ongoing efforts to deliver products that help people to build and repair the world we live in. Ideal candidates should have strong organizational, planning, and project management skills. Have the ability to prioritize tasks for both self and support engineers to meet business requirements and deadlines. Have strong written and communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and problem solving suggestions effectively.Major Responsibilities: Understand packaging process work with global packaging team and suppliers to develop packaging requirements, material specifications and project prioritiesWork with the Sr. Packaging Engineer to execute packaging strategies to support new product development and existing product packagingCreate optimized packaging structure to maximize quality based on regionally available materials and qualify through testingCoordinate specifications, labeling and approvals of packaging structures.Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new packaging for changes in quality / cost. Position Requirements: BS Packaging Engineering RequiredMust have professional experience as a structural engineering or packaging engineer working in the consumer goods industryDeep understanding manufacturing processes as it pertains to packaging designStrong knowledge of packaging materials (corrugated, paperboard, plastic) and characteristics for packaging structural designWorking knowledge of printing, die-cutting & molding processesAbility to troubleshoot problems with current product packagingFamiliar with ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,ProE Creo (not required but a plus)Good sketching and visualizing skills must have a passion for packaging designSelf-motivated with a positive attitude that is able to work within teamsMust have strong project and time management skills with the ability to multi-task EEO Statement All qualified applicants to Stanley Black & Decker will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, veteran's status, age, disability or any other characteristic protected by law
