Position Overview: Within the Hand Tools & Storage division of Stanley Black & Decker we are currently looking for a Senior Product Engineer to support the Engineered Storage Solutions category. This position is responsible for the development of new and improved designs for high durability storage products (general storage, tool storage, work centers, etc) for industrial, profession and military applications. This position requires the development of product/project cost and schedule estimates and must monitor assigned projects.Responsibilities: Provide schedule and design leadership on the assigned engineering projects.Create/develop models, drawings, prototypes, BOMS, cost info, etc and complete necessary product testing.Document and maintain product development schedules utilizing MS project or equivalent software.Work in coordination with Product Management, Marketing, Operations and Customer Base teams to transform customer input into robust designs.Generate 3D Models in CAN (Pro-E, SolidWorks)Create and publish drawings from CAD models for purchased and manufactured components.Develop, document and maintain project tasks and schedules and execute project tasks as required.Specify performance testing parameters, execute tests and document compliance with applicable requirements.Improve existing products using analytical techniques to better meet customer requirements.Investigate cost reduction opportunities within manufacturing facility and optimize product designs to make improvements in manufacturing processes.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldMinimum of 7 years of related experience in product design and development.Proven track record of leadership to other engineers and cross functional teams.3-D CAD/CAE exposure and Pro/Engineer preferred.
