Results-driven professional responsible for the design and development of voice, video, and/or data communications networks in a high-paced environment.

  1. Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.

2. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.3. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.4. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.5. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.6. May perform network administration duties.7. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.8. May serve as technical team or task leader.9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.10. Participates in special projects as required. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

 This position works closely with Government staff in the engineering of mission critical systems and networks.


1. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis and design.

2. Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.

3. Advanced knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.

4. Analyzes customer requirements to allow accurate technical specifications and engineering recommendations.

5. Assists with engineering solutions for customer mission networks.

6. Assists in the creation and updating of network documentation.

7. Monitors and troubleshoots networks during implementation of engineering solutions before transition to O&M.

8. Provides recommendations on technical solutions.

9. Supports project managers during all phases of project management.


A minimum of a current DoD 8570.1 IAT level 2 certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE in addition to a network certification. CCNA required. CCNP preferred.


Experience with Cisco required. Experience with Juniper preferred. Experience with Brocade desired.


ITIL Foundation certification required within 6 months of hire.


Working knowledge of Visio preferred.


Active TS/SCI clearance required.
