Sr Enterprise Architect
The Sr Enterprise Architect will design, test, implement, and operationalize the a SDN solution in a controlled and measurable fashion in order to reduce the risk to customer and mission performance. Sr Enterprise Architect will be responsible for successful execution and implementation of all phases of the effort, with defined governance “gates” between phases requiring government review at the completion of the phase. All phases below shall be tracked as major milestones in the Contractor’s IMS. Sr Enterprise Architect will update IMS shall account for government review, required updates, and acceptance after each phase. The Sr Enterprise Architect may propose approaches such as overlapping activity across multiple phases in order to streamline execution of the overall program. Responsible for the establishment of the enterprise architecture framework including architecture principles and standards across IT at GDIT. 1. Define and validate architecture principles and standards with regard to Application and Infrastructure architecture standards 2. Define and validate business/information /data architecture by working with key business stakeholders and creating governing bodies for data and process owners as needed 3. Communicate architecture and IT standards to all stakeholders and ensure standards are published, updated and adhered to. 4. Assess and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions 5. Control and maintain IT standards across GDIT 6. Interact with Project and Change managers to assess that projects meet the IT standards; update as appropriate if a change is required. 7. Liaise with Technology Infrastructure and Operations as part of architecture and standards approval process. 8. Promote a culture of innovation; continuously seek opportunities for improvement within role, processes, team and the IT organization as a whole. 9. Provide solution and alternative recommendations for business cases for new solutions 10. Validate a systems architectural blueprint and design for quality, performance, security, user experience, maintenance, operations, redundancy, compliance, data flows, life cycling, dependencies and integration 11. Provide IT input into technical requirements for RFP/RFI/RFQ 12. Participates in special projects as required. Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent; Master’s degree preferred Qualifications Requires 20+ years of experience. Work Experience, min 12 years:5+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches5+ years primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks2+ years as senior or lead network architect in multi-tenant network2+ years as senior or lead network architect in planning, designing, and building software defined networks3+ years DoD environmentCertifications:At least two nationally recognized certifications for senior network administrators/engineers/architects, and one of these certifications must be tied to the proposed solution’s routers and switches. IAT Level III in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M: a CASP CE or CISA or CISSP or GCED or GCIH.
