General Dynamics Information Technology is looking for a Lead Network Engineer to modernize the Pentagon's network. The Sr./Lead Network Engineer will work with the Sr. Network Architect to design, test, implement, and operationalize the a SDN solution in a controlled and measurable fashion in order to reduce the risk to customer and mission performance. The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for successful execution and implementation of all phases of the effort, with defined governance “gates” between phases requiring government review at the completion of the phase. All phases below shall be tracked as major milestones in the Contractor’s IMS. The Contractor’s updated IMS shall account for government review, required updates, and acceptance after each phase. The Contractor may propose approaches such as overlapping activity across multiple phases in order to streamline execution of the overall program. 1. Designs and develops enterprise architectures, and defines key capabilities and performance requirements 2. Develops technical roadmaps for future implementations. 3. Develops business case analysis on potential projects. 4. Ensures security is integrated into all architecture solutions. 5. Acts as a subject-matter expert to multiple tasks and/or programs. 5. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients. 7. Evaluate new application, infrastructure and cloud decisions in existing context of applications, infrastructure, standards, current business strategy and future business strategy 8. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. 9. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced IT staff and may have supervisory responsibilities. 10. Serves as liaison with senior clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met. 11. Provides high level expertise to multiple projects and tasks. 12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 13. Participates in special projects as required. Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent; Master’s degree preferred Qualifications Requires 15-20 years of experience. Experience, min 10 years:5+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches5+ years primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks2+ years as senior or lead engineer in planning, designing, and building software defined networks3+ years DoD environmentCertifications:At least one nationally recognized certifications for senior network administrators/engineers/architects tied to the proposed solution’s routers and switches.
