Responsibilities: About the Opportunity DMI is currently seeking an experienced professional to fill an IT Business Analyst Lead position for a software development team. Will lead a team of business analysts to gather requirements and/or user stories, conduct analysis of alternatives, write papers, act as Scrum Master, and assist team in Agile transformation. Duties and Responsibilities: * Lead a team of 3-6 business analysts to support various software development effort * Coordinate and communicate with other team leads, management, and the customer to ensure all program goals are being met in relation to business analysis and the BA team * Responsible for identifying and developing requirements and establishing requirements traceability to the business vision * Assign tasks to team members and review work as necessary * Provide guidance and direction to the BA team to ensure work is being done according to process/policy, efficiently, and correctly * Conduct evaluations of team members and provide guidance and mentorship to foster continued professional development * Work closely with the technical team in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements * Solicit requirements and user stories through interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures * Develop project and communication documents, conduct analysis of alternatives, and develop white papers, roadmaps and case studies * Serve as Scrum Master to help build high performing teams, build shippable products and be responsible for leading Agile best practices, specifically Scrum and project coordination * Ensure Scrum is understood and work with the team to solve problems and to drive continuous improvement and business owner satisfaction * Will organize and facilitate all Scrum related meetings (stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews, demos, etc.) * Work with the team to develop project plans, roadmaps, and manage backlog. Communicate team plans, report impediments for escalation, identify risk/concerns to relevant stakeholders to help resolve * Work with product owners and stakeholders to refine vision and establish goals and metrics * Update Agile tracking system daily to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs. Track and communicate velocity and spring progress to all affected teams and management Qualifications: Education and Years of Experience: * Mininum of 10 years of academic and business experience, particularly in a software development enviornment * Mininum of 5 years of team leadership experience * The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a technology related field, or other degree. Equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience is also acceptable * Experience in Agile required Required Skills/Certifications: * Self-starter who can come up to speed quickly. Works with little direction and supervision, makes time for unplanned assignments, and adaptable to changing priorities. * Solid collaboration, multi-tasking and organization skills. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leadership abilities a plus. * Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills including technical writing skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management. * Has strong analytical and problem solving skills, and is able to identify multiple approaches to problem solving and recommend the best solution. * Strong facilitation skills needed. Must be able to elicit requirements from various stakeholders across the organization. * Process driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods needed. * Must possess understanding of software engineering concepts. * Must have experience working in an office setting and possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. * Must be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments in accordance to program goals. * Must be coachable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and take initiative in performing tasks. * Team player must be able to work professionally and collaboratively with the government customer and other contract members of the project team. * Writing Samples may be requested. Desired Skills/Certifications: * CSM or CBAP certification or equivalent certification desired * Proficient skills in Microsoft standard desktop applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. * Rational RTC, RRC, and RQM highly desired.
