Job Description Primary Job Function and Scope PVB Masonry Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Potomac Valley Brick & Supply Co, is seeking a Field Service Technician to operate, service and train customers on their Semi-Automated Mason (SAM), a commercially available robotic bricklaying system. The Technician would be responsible for planning and executing each job and operating the machine alongside customer masons. As an interface with our customers, this individual must provide excellent customer service in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is resourceful and goal oriented; a strong individual contributor who also works well in a team environment. Candidates must also possess excellent problem solving skills and be flexible, resourceful and independent. Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate SAM on construction sites Layout mast climbing scaffold systems for SAM operation Train customers/masons on use of SAM Develop both long term and short term project plans for each job Manage on-site technical issues and implement solutions quickly Diagnose problems and recommend solutions to the Engineering team to continuously improve the performance of SAM Education and/or Experience Minimum of 3 years of engineering, construction, or auto-tech experience Masonry experience preferred High school diploma or GED required Machine-shop certificate, or technical apprenticeship preferred Associates or Bachelor's degree in technical field preferred Tutoring or training experience preferred Required Skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures Ability to write detailed reports Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of technical issues Willing to travel and work as required to keep project on schedule Ability to work alone once provided with high level direction Ability to manage others and to record all field operations on a daily basis Willing to regularly work outside and frequently lift items up to 30 pounds Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand tools
