Avalere Health is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join our growing Health Economics and Advanced Analytics HEAA practice to manage design and conduct quantitative analyses on a wide range of health care financing delivery quality and coverage issues The HEAA practice consists of staff with specialized experience such as health service researchers health economists clinicians and project managers who conceptualize execute and deliver qualitative analytical and strategy based work products for clients We also work closely with other practices within Avalere applying the full scope of the firma s knowledge base to the development of multi disciplinary creative solutions on behalf of our clients Successful candidates will thrive in a fast paced environment and have the solid understanding of actuarial concepts related to health policy issues and business needs for a diverse set of clients He or she should have specific background related to government programs Medicare Medicaid CHIP and or fully insured markets individual small group large group as well as an understanding of risk adjustment programs This position will report to a Director or Vice President of Health Economics and Advanced Analytics The ideal candidate will have a record of inventive problem solving The candidate must be able to formulate strategies multi task translate work products into meaningful guidance for clients develop and deliver presentations and write effectively The candidate must be capable of managing client relationships and leading and mentoring junior staff in a team oriented environment Principal Duties and Responsibilities Conceptualize the scope of projects for clients assemble a cross functional team and oversee the team from project initiation through completion of client deliverables Design and conduct analyses that quantify the impact of policy and or market changes on clientsa businesses utilizing various analytical methods and data sources Provide actuarial expertise oversight and guidance in developing various models based on the business needs of the client Recognize opportunities to integrate actuarial skills across a variety of projects and clients representing multiple health care segments Participate in and lead project teams in the production and presentation of deliverables for a diverse set of clients Skills Experience and Other Job Related Requirements Minimum Requirements Bachelora s degree in economics public policy public health public administration business or related discipline years of relevant experience Demonstrated experience advising executive level stakeholders in health care government academia or a similar environment Demonstrated experience analyzing health care claims encounter administrative and or survey data Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively Strong communication and presentation skills Proficiency in SAS Excel and or other software languages Additional Skills and Competencies ASA or FSA designation preferred Advanced knowledge of actuarial concepts and methods and their application to a variety of health policy and health care business issues Advanced knowledge of health care health policy pharmaceutical medical device and related issues Superior customer service in the form of first rate work product and project management Superior fluency in articulating Avalere s value proposition competencies and major content areas Strong ability to manage challenging client situations Strong ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions Strong ability to translate complex information for a wide range of clients How to Apply All applications should be submitted through the Careers section of our website at www avalere com careers Please submit copies of the following application materials Cover letter Resume Writing sample could include published abstract manuscript or presentation Candidates should be prepared to complete an interview exercise as part of the in person interview process Avalere Health is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin disability or protected veteran status
