Accounting Manager (DOD experience)
Job Description Kearney & Company is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Alexandria, VA team. The Accounting Manager will help develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction, demonstrate proficiency with accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations. This position requires a mastery of process documentation, risk assessment, data analysis, and writing skills. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below: Required Skills: Familiarity with Department of Defense (DOD) policies, systems and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property and material management Financial Improvement/Audit Readiness Experience Develop testing templates and test procedures Review and consolidate results Perform data analysis Knowledge of pertinent Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies and federal financial management systems requirements Supervise and review work performed by other staff Develop people through effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management Oversee daily operations of one or more engagements Provide subject matter technical expertise to delivery team in financial management areas of financial reporting, internal control, and/or financial business systems Review draft deliverables prepared by engagement teams and present final results to management Manage the submission of deliverables to the client Required Experience: BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management preferred CPA or CISA or PMP or CDFM or CGFM is highly desirable 5 years of federal accounting and auditing experience Experience with Financial Improvement/Audit Readiness Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to obtain/maintain a US secret level security clearance (requires US Citizenship) Kearney & Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
