Job Description *U.S. Citizens only - due to federal contract* *We do not work with third party* Title: Computer Systems/Network Analyst III (Senior System Administrator) Desired Start Date: ASAP Desired End Date: 6 mo. start Wage: Competitive Hours Per Week: 40 An opening for a Senior System Administrator in Greenbelt, MD. This position is in support of NASA's Mission Network and its 24X7 Network Operations Management Center (NOMC). Work will be associated with administrating various servers and services using a diverse set of computing platforms. Duties will include setting up accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software. This position will also make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinating the installation of these products and providing backup recovery when necessary. Work may be required after hours and on weekends to support any on-going problems the Operations Center may be experiencing. This would also include work on holidays, as necessary. Candidate will be working directly with other NICS employees, as well as NASA Engineers to collect and then implement requirements. Part of these duties will include developing overall strategy, design, implementation and operational aspects of multiple systems, operating environments, and related software. REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: A Bachelors degree in a related field & 10 years experience or High School & 15 year's related experience is required. The candidate should have experience with Linux, Unix, Windows servers/clients, Network Security principles, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS HP Open View, and HP Network Node Manager (NNMi). The candidate should have experience writing scripts, be self motivated, and be capable of being self-taught. Ideal candidate must be able to grasp a wide range of unique skills, and be able to think and respond quickly to real-time problems as they arise. Candidate must be an effective communicator and be able to interpret customer requirements based on discussions, phone calls, emails and other means for collecting information. Candidate must have strong multi-tasking skills to effectively meet task objectives. Candidate must be outgoing with a pleasant personality and a positive can-do attitude. DESIRED SKILLS: It would be a plus if the candidate has experience administering Patchlink Update Server, Foundstone FoundScan, Nessus Scanner, HP Network Automation, (Opsware) NAS, MS SQL Server, BIND 9, at least two firewall platforms, Sybase, postfix, apache, mysql, MRTG, SSH, IPSEC-based VPN's, LDAP, AD, Snort. In addition, having experience with implementing FISMA Accreditation and Authorization requirements is a desired skill. Also having experience with managing projects, developing requirements documents, developing detailed design documents as well as developing operational implementation plans is a plus.
