Job Description Relevant experience required and environment: 7+ years of server operations experience - Hands on experience with administering and monitoring BigFix 9.X production environment - Strategic member of a technical organization - Install, configure, troubleshoot, patch, and manage BigFix on Windows - Experience with patching Solaris and RedHat Linux with BigFix a plus - Hands on experience with troubleshooting Bigfix client and relay communication issues in a large multisite deployment needed - Support tickets relating to BigFix technical issues primarily and work other tickets as assigned - Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for BigFix application and agents - Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with Servers, software, and communications devices - Provide escalation support for technical support and assistance to junior administrators - Interfaces with our client, other contractors, and internal team to present ideas and concepts for approval - Makes business and technical recommendations for new initiatives - Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution for BigFix and general patching issues on Windows systems - Develops and implements testing strategies and document results - Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems - Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned - Participates in special projects as required - Operations experience in a variety of server based operating system - MS Server 2008 and above - Tivoli Endpoint Manager (TEM) management experience with SCM content and workflow - Strong knowledge of supporting MS tools (MDT, SCCM, SCOM, DNS, networking, storage, clustering) - BigFix Relevance and Session Relevance Languages - PowerShell scripting experience is a plus - *NIX Bash scripting is a plus - Working TEM/BigFix deployment experience - Experience writing fixlets in TEM/BigFix for package deployments - Experience creating packages for windows updates to servers and PCs - Experience creating custom properties and Analysis in BigFix to use for reporting - Strong analytical skills; Able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment - Strong organizational skills; Must be able to multitask without sacrificing attention to details - Able to work effectively with other groups and teams - Must be able to come up to speed on new project areas quickly as this role will grow quickly - Exceptional problem-solving skills - Experience with VMware virtualization technologies, especially automation based on VMware products is a plus - Familiar with security, best practices and methodologies Professional environment. Public Trust Clearance is required. Background Investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background. Though the position is 8-5 M-F, the role also acts as Tier 3 support for operations and can require at times support on weekends, nights, and holidays. Qualifications BS or equivalent + 9 yrs related experience, or MS + 7 yrs related experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience. Experience writing scripts using at least one of the following: BigFix ActionScript, CMD shell, PowerShell or VBScript Experience utilizing BigFix QnA Debugger to debug Relevance queries and/or ActionScript is desired Experience utilizing Wise, or other stand-along packaging tool desired, but not required. Experience with WMI queries and REGEX expressions a plus RHEL and/or Solaris experience a plus Advanced knowledge of: Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Account access and controls, Service account setup and configuration, Security controls, and migration of systems to a more secure baseline. Experience with OS Deployment technologies (MDT, SCCM OS Deployment, or BigFix OS Deployment) Windows - Proficient with Windows OS, Active Directory domains, SQL Server administration, IIS Enterprise Infrastructure - Have in depth knowledge of networks / firewalls / SANs in regards to supporting virtual and physical server infrastructure Troubleshooting - Proficient at Systematic analysis to diagnose and trace data flow to determine cause and effect of issues. Strong Communications, Problem Solving, Leadership and analytical skills Able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment. Strong organizational skills; Must be able to multitask without sacrificing attention to details. Able to work effectively with other groups and teams. Must be able to come up to speed on new project areas quickly as this role will grow quickly Strongly suggest that successful candidate has current certifications in all the required skills: Bigfix Security+ MCSE - WIN 2008/2012
