Job Description Senior Museum Desktop Support Technician Who we are InfoStructures, Inc. is an information technology services firm located in Rockville, MD. We are seeking an energetic, highly-motivated, qualified Senior Museum Desktop technician to support a dynamic customer environment in downtown Washington, DC. Characteristics we seek: · High energy and motivation to be fully engaged · Tremendous attention to detail · Ability to weigh a number of options and provide the most efficient solution · OUTSTANDING oral (in person/phone) and written communication skills, including an ability to deal with people at various levels, from technician- to executive · Strong ability to build relationships with clients, co-workers and management What experience you need: Five years plus (5+) of real world user systems support, preferably in an enterprise environment, including recent and relevant experience in the following: · Windows 7/8.x, 10 systems · Apple Mac OS systems · Unix/Linux environments · iOS/Android devices Specific experience in designing, deploying and supporting solutions is desired in these areas: · Writing Windows batch files/shell scripts (bash, PowerShell) · Deploying systems using Microsoft MDT · Supporting users via SCCM/RDP/Dameware · Building servers in AWS environments · Experience supporting Apache You should have these additional IT skills: · Superior hardware and software troubleshooting skills · Strong network connectivity skills, including troubleshooting TCP/IP, DHCP, NICs, DNS, network drive mappings, etc. · Experience configuring, deploying and supporting mobile devices and working with synchronization tools · Office 2013/2016, especially Outlook, Word and Excel · Browsers to include IE, Safari, Firefox and Chrome · Experience using HEAT Service Desk Management System (or a similar system) Museum requirements also dictate requiring experience with the following: · Video conferencing solutions, public address systems, public PC kiosks, and media players/video projectors/large-format televisions · Audio-visual conference room equipment · Public kiosk configuration, troubleshooting and repair · Digital cameras, scanners, and audio recording equipment · Advanced Active Directory network object and file system administration, including managing group policies Desirable training/certifications: · BS Degree · A+/Net+ · MCTS in Windows or MCSE · Linux+ or RedHat RHCSA certifications What you will do You will provide senior-level remote- and on-site desktop, laptop and mobile (eg, iPhone/iPad) support for users in a dynamic government environment. This will include troubleshooting incidents and problems as well as handling requests for services, eg, installations, configurations, moves, migrations, upgrades. As a senior resource, you will be expected to take on the most difficult/complex assignments. These requests may come in person, via email, or via phone. Work will also include the following: · Event support, including: IT/AV support for internal and external meetings, including setup, installation, and/or configuration of Video Conference Equipment, projectors, speakers, podiums/microphones, and cameras; PowerPoint/Prezi presentations with presenter's remote and cordless keyboards and cordless mice; temporary Wi-Fi WAPs; setup of interactive/augmented reality simulators and public kiosk systems; setup and support of large screen TV's and/or projection on to large walls or screens; laptop setup for lectures · Coordinating with various vendors for system or event installations · Configuring, maintaining, supporting and remediating: oA computerized public address system o Network devices/printers and other equipment o Public kiosk hardware (touch screens and PC hardware) o Digital Video Recorders/Players and associated large screen monitors · Advanced troubleshooting of system environments and their interactions with the computing and networking infrastructure at the museum · Analysis and configuration of system or application software products · Conducting demonstrations and training (both formal and through mentoring), new user orientation, and providing documentation for newly installed hardware/software · Network administration, including creation of network accounts using established procedures; establishing and maintaining network file shares and access control; maintaining group policies · Executing project work such as: Facility moves Kiosk workstation configuration and hardening Integration of various network-connected components, eg, high-end data acquisition devices, media servers, digital signage, etc. Supporting digitization efforts · Providing advanced technical documentation such as SOPs and work completed reports · Completing other duties as assigned Clearance Requirements Ability to pass a corporate and Federal background check. Previous Federal Agency check (or higher) clearance preferred. Other Weekend and after-hours work may be required by special arrangement.
