Job Description JSL is seeking a motivated, experienced senior engineer to perform system safety analysis and conduct reviews including Shipboard safety surveys, and mishap investigations in Ready Reserve Force, Reserve Fleet, and School Ship assets. Additional information from the candidate: Must have a thorough and working knowledge of MIL-SDT-882, MIL-STD-1472, and ASTM F-1166. Working experience of US Navy Ships or Merchant Ships and ship systems. Experience in Human Factors Engineering, and System safety Engineering. Must have a secret clearance. Engineering Degree or equivalent experience is desired. Must be able to conduct Ship Safety Survey on Ships under the responsibility of DOT MARAD. Must be able to perform analytical research and investigate and recommend solutions for safety issues and anomalies to root cause. Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with team members, customers, and end users. Ability to effectively give presentations to government officials. Ability to work well within a small diverse team. Experience working with customers and providing customer service. Ability to produce analysis reports, Ship Survey reports, and Technical Presentations.
