Job Description DC Power Lead Installer Velocity Telecom - Sterling, VA Telecom Central Office Installer Levels 3,4: We are looking for experienced Central Office Telecom installation personnel to help grow our team of installation professionals to support our ever growing client workload. Your role will be to install Telecom equipment and cabling in client central offices, Co-locations, and/or Head-end sites in VA, MD, DC, DE, and WV. Responsibilities: -Installers will be responsible for managing and working with installation crews. -Installation and termination of DC power and grounding cabling and equipment. -Installation, termination, and testing of twisted pair, RG59 coax, and Fiber. -Installation of cabinets, fiber duct, and ladder rack. -Installation of Juniper, Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Scientific Atlanta, ADC, Telect equipment, and cabling. -Installation of Emerson, Alpha and/or GE BDFB power bays. -Installation of North Star Batteries and supporting equipment. Required Qualifications: -Minimum 5-7 years of experience working specifically in Central Office, Co-locations, and or Head-end environment, with references. -Minimum 5-7 years of experience with installation of batteries, lacing, racks, rectifiers, power distribution, battery distribution fuse bays and infrastructure used in telecommunications networks. -Must have experience working in Cox and/or Comcast Central offices. -Well rounded knowledge of Telcordia GR1275 installation standards. -Willing to travel 50% of the year. -Must have driver's license and reliable transportation and installation tools.
