Job Description Accountant II Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States Position Type: Full-Time/Regular (40 hours per workweek) Experience: 2-4 years in the field or in a related area Education: AS in Accounting; BS in Accounting preferred Praxis, Inc., a leading-edge technology company providing high-quality engineering and IT services to government and industry, is searching for an Accountant II to joint our Accounting Group in the Arlington headquarters locale. Responsibilities: Work as an intermediate level Accountant II for our Accounting group supporting Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Project Accounting and Accounts Receivable tasks. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Accounts Receivable Prepare monthly ACRN billing Prepare and mail bank deposits and enter coordinating cash receipts Preparation of ACRN reconciliations Accounts Payable Assist with data entry of employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with government travel regulations Assist with data entry, review & posting of check requests, accounts payable & purchase order vouchers Assist in processing of weekly check run Prepare & maintain vendor credit applications Prepare monthly sales & use tax reconciliation & payment Oversee maintenance and organization of all accounting files General Ledger Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations Prepare month-end journal entries Assist with general ledger analysis & research Assist with the monitoring & tracking of fixed assets Assist with preparation of financial statements Assist with preparation for all financial audits Project Accounting Prepare weekly revenue reports for project managers Assist with ACRN reconciliations Assist with monitoring & review of project ledger and reconciliation to the general ledger Review employee timesheets to ensure labor costs are properly allocated to projects & accounts Assist Department with other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications: AS in Accounting; BS in Accounting preferred 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Accounting field Strong experience in Excel Good oral & written communication skills Deltek Cost Point Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools Detail and deadline-oriented Only candidates invited for an interview will be contacted.
