Job Description Responsibilities: Documents financial transactions by entering account information for small business accounts. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options. Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions. Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions Prepare personal and corporate tax returns or desire to learn tax Files federal , state, and local tax documents by preparing property tax returns, state pages, and federal, state, and municipal returns, extensions, and quarterly payments. Prepares tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating provision schedules. Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues. Maintains legislative materials by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or revised laws. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Qualifications: Knowledge of Lacerate or UltraTax a big plus Minimum combination of three years experience in small business accounting and/or tax return preparation Strong knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks Company Description Small local firm specializing in small business accounts and tax preparation, no audit work.
