Job Description AQIWO is a Native American owned and managed professional services firm headquartered in Northern Virginia. At AQIWO, we have a long history of supporting the US Department of Labor (DOL). We are looking for a subject matter expert on SolarWinds to serve as a Senior Network Engineer supporting DOL on site in Washington, DC . This position will serve on the network monitoring team and serve as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and support and participate in other high-level network implementation projects. This position will interface with the Project Manager to develop a project plan and a project schedule and will also interface with application owners and other technical specialists to develop monitoring solutions for various network devices, servers, circuits and applications. General Requirements: Bachelor's Degree At least six (6) years of Network Engineering experience with at least two (2) years of solid experience implementing network monitoring solutions in a large scale enterprise environment required Experience configuring SolarWinds, HP Open View, BMC Atrium, or other monitoring solutions ( SolarWinds strongly preferred ) Cisco CCIE, CCNP, and/or CCDP certification preferred If you are interested and meet these qualifications, please provide an updated resume and salary history at your earliest convenience. Responsibilities: Provide design, implementation and operational integration support of Department of Labor (DOL) technology infrastructure projects with a primary focus on monitoring Provide expert-level understanding of network protocols, network devices (Routers and Switches) and monitoring tools Configure HP Open View, SolarWinds or other monitoring solutions Interface with application owners and technical experts from other IT areas Develop custom reports and dashboards to display and report the operational status of monitored devices and services The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree At least six (6) years of Network Engineering experience required At least two (2) years of solid experience implementing network monitoring solutions in a large scale enterprise environment required Expert-level understanding of network protocols, network devices (routers and switches) and monitoring tools Experience configuring HP Open View, BMC Atrium, SolarWinds or other monitoring solutions Experience interfacing with application owners and technical experts from other IT areas Experience developing custom reports and dashboards to display and report the operational status of monitored devices and services Strong working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and the ability to perform troubleshooting of networks and associated devices Understanding of network security including Intrusion Detection, Firewalls, DMZ, Routers, VPNs, and common network level vulnerabilities Experience with IPv6 and VoIP/Unified Communications design, deployment and troubleshooting Cisco CCIE, CCNP, and/or CCDP certification preferred Physical Requirements: Work is performed in a general office environment Ability to sit for up to 80% of time Additional Requirements as per contract/client: Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Security Clearance United States Citizenship or Permanent Residency
