Overview:The Benefits Administrator will administer Inovalon s company sponsored multi-state health, welfare, retirement plans, and other company plans and programs. The qualified candidate in this role will advise employees on eligibility for insurance, hospitalization, and other benefits including amounts of coverage and claims procedures and ensures that programs are carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures. This role maintains benefit records and prepares documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage and will provide hands on assistance with a variety of moderately complex tasks requiring strong knowledge of benefit practices and regulatory requirements. The Benefits Administrator reports to the Benefits Manager in Human Resources.Responsibilities:Performs benefits administration and day-to-day contact responses to employee benefit questions in reference to group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, group life, long- and retirement, income continuation, and other such policies;Conduct Benefits presentation for New Associates Orientation (NAO) and other employees who may need additional assistance with understanding benefits;Initiate resolution of benefit issues, including assisting employees with filing claims, completion and file requests for reimbursement, as well as handling dispute resolution;Support all benefits related changes, upgrades and implementation of vendor related feeds within HRIS systems;Escalate highly complex issues to management as appropriate and circle back to resolve issues with employees;Participate with annual open enrollment, including reconciliation of enrollment census, communications, and benefits plan renewal process, policy/procedure changes and meetings;Serve as a contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators; Work effectively to make sure the plans run smoothly. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency; Investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations;Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry trends of health and welfare benefits. Utilize technical knowledge in identifying potential compliance risks and offer plan of action to bring into compliance;Responsible for ongoing benefit file maintenance and audits; run various ad hoc reports for HR department as requested;Ensures compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA provisions, and files required State and Federal reports.May conduct research to determine the effectiveness of benefit programs and policies;Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor s Degree or related field or relevant work experience;Minimum 3+ years experience in Benefits and or Human Resources;Computer proficiency, technical aptitude, and experience with Human Resource Information systems (HRIS);Demonstrated knowledge of benefits services, operations, and delivery;knowledge of general system environment and process flow;Understands compliance, regulatory and legislative in aligned benefits area;Ability to track trends, report on quality and follow up on challenging benefits concerns;Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to facilitate effective conversations with internal and external customers;Proficient in MS Office Products particularly Excel and Power PointAbility to adapt well to changing priorities in a fast paced environment;Basic knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint; andDemonstrates solid organizational skills.
