We currently have an opening for a Senior Loss Control Consultant for the Mid-Atlantic Region. POSITION SUMMARY Assist in the acquisition and retention of profitable business through the application of multi-line Loss Control survey and service practices RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts new business and renewal Loss Control surveys in support of Underwriting risk selection practices Provides policyholder Loss Control services targeting loss performance improvement and retention Collaborates with Underwriting, Claims, the policyholder and agent in the delivery and execution of Loss Control survey and service practices Imparts strong technical and business skills across all major lines of coverage with peers, business partners and external customers Supports the continual improvement and growth of the Loss Control Department through internal training and education, practice and procedure development, and process enhancement contributions Fosters and sustains professional relationships with peers, business partners, policyholders and agents POSITION DESCRIPTION Conducts multi-coverage line Loss Control surveys on a broad spectrum of industries of varying size and complexity in the Middle Market segment Submits recommendations and manages their follow-up internally and externally to improve risk conditions Facilitates, develops and delivers Loss Control services to targeted policyholders through analyses, planning and collaboration Fosters relationships with policyholders and agents aligned to Loss Control objectives targeting brand recognition and value Participates in individual and team-based agency visits focusing on the delivery of technical capability, policyholder support and brand value. Shares existing and newly acquired technical knowledge with policyholders, agents, peers and business partners through training and education practices Keeps abreast of industry and technical news and developments and share the knowledge gained with peers, business partners, policyholders and agents Participates and contributes to internal, multi-discipline round table meetings targeting lessons-learned from losses REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS . Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Concentration in Safety and Health, Fire Protection, Applied Sciences, Engineering, Math, Business Administration or related are preferred. Equivalent combinations of academic concentrations and work experience are considered. Minimum 7 years of experience demonstrating technical experience and expertise in property, general liability, products liability, automobile and workers' compensation. Proven track record of success in implementing loss control solutions. Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation are preferred Demonstrates effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills Proficient computer skills aligned to report writing software and work management systems Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize . PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Meets or exceeds Department Standards for production, quality and timeliness of survey and service work. Possess a valid driver's license Exemplifies and facilitates results based ownership and an entrepreneurial culture Able to work outside, climb and work on safe elevated areas such as platforms, scaffolds and roofs TRAVEL: Able to walk 3-5 miles per day for survey purposes Capable of overnight travel varying in frequency and duration (generally 2 to 5 days per month Interested applicants should forward a resume to:
