Requisition Number 17-0028 Post Date 6/29/2017 Title Senior Accountant Division Finance PT/FT Full Time City Washington State DC Description Our Mission The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) is a nonprofit corporation established by Congress to oversee the audits of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate and independent audit reports. The PCAOB also oversees the audits of broker-dealers, including compliance reports filed pursuant to federal securities laws, to promote investor protection. Job Description The PCAOB has a full-time opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Office of Finance at its Washington, DC headquarters office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position plays a key role in the company's internal and external financial reporting function. Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Prepare journal entries for review and posting Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis Prepare monthly supplemental reporting schedules Create and maintain financial reports Serve as back-up for accounts receivable and account payable processes Provide support during annual year-end audit Prepare fixed asset roll-forward and assist with annual inventory process Assist the Financial Reporting Team in improving reporting Document processes for various financial applications Requirements Qualifications BA or BS in Accounting or a related field; CPA or CPA candidate a plus Minimum of 3 years of accounting and/or financial analysis with either public company or corporate experience Highly knowledgeable in all General Ledger functions Business acumen and knowledge and understanding of GAAP Must understand the relationship of financial statements to business operations and take a proactive role in developing processes/controls/systems Ability to quickly grasp issues and formulate approaches to problem resolution Understanding of management reporting and ability to drive processes/structures to facilitate reporting Knowledge of Great Plains and TM1 reporting software a plus Strong organization skills and ability to perform detail-oriented, accurate work Ability to plan and execute work to meet quality and timeline requirements Strong work ethic and high moral standards Minimal travel required Our Values The PCAOB encourages a spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and fosters an environment of professional growth where employees can exercise their leadership ability, creativity, technical competence, and public interest focus in helping the PCAOB fulfill its mission.
