JOB TITLE Reliability and Maintainability RM Senior Engineer PROJECT OVERVIEW The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Systems Engineering DASD SE is the focal point for all policy practice and procedural matters relating to DoD Systems Engineering and its key elements to include technical risk management software engineering manufacturing and production quality and related disciplines DASD SE provides guidance and policy to DoD components in the execution of their general and specialty engineering functions across the acquisition process DASD SE is engaged throughout the acquisition life cycle with major and selected acquisition programs across DoD to provide advice guidance mentoring and oversight of program technical execution JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Reliability and Maintainability RM Engineering expertise for the Department of Defense DoD The RM Engineer will provide guidance and assess the planning and execution of Major Defense Acquisition Programs MDAPs RM engineering activities Using knowledge of systems engineering and acquisition provide support to RM focused reviews during Program Support Assessments Nunn McCurdy Congressional Investigations and System Engineering Technical Reviews Domains reviewed include C Communication Electronic Warfare ISR Missile Defense and Space Specific tasks Promote the efficient application of RM best practices with DoD stakeholders Improve systems engineering and development planning policy guidance and tools to support the use of principles and best practices by the DoD acquisition community Promote effective technical collaboration among DoD stakeholders Support the appropriate posture for use of RM guidance and techniques within the systems acquisitions lifecycle Provide specialty engineering technical and analytical services in support of DASD SE policy guidance and acquisition responsibilities REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Security Clearance Secret Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related field years of experience in engineering science or related field in two or more of the domains years of reliability availability and maintainability RAM related experience to include predictions allocations Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis FMECA Built In Test BIT growth curves and requirement specification development for space and or low volume production systems years of Systems Engineering and program office acquisition experiences working in the defense acquisition community military Government civilian or contractor years experience with customer relationship management Ability to think strategically and conceptually and to transform ideas into practical implementation Experience communicating with senior management Experience in developing and delivering senior leadership level briefings in a high pressure environment Possess communications and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to provide long term guidance and solutions Possess strong analytical problem solving prioritization writing and organizational skills DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree in an engineering discipline or related field Demonstrated experience in planning briefing and coordinating senior level technical reviews panels or similar meetings with diverse participants Knowledge of OSD interface and communication protocols Knowledge of DOD acquisition lifecycle policy and guidance DODI Defense Acquisition Guidebook Experience working within a minimum of two Program Offices for a Major Development Acquisition Program or Major Acquisition Information System or DOD Department Experience implementing RM Engineering activities on programs in two or more DOD domains WORK LOCATION Alexandria VA TRAVEL KEY WORDS Reliability and Maintainability RAM MDAP Nunn McCurdy DoD Program Office acquisition DAWIA certifications Defense Acquisition University DAU Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis FMECA Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA WBB is a technical and management consulting company that provides innovative products and services that solve government and commercial customers toughest problems For more than years WBB has set the standard for excellence in consulting services while providing its employees with an outstanding work environment with ample opportunities for growth and success WBB continues to enjoy impressive growth which is directly attributed to the companys hiring practice of always hiring the very best professionals from government military and industry We are proud of our diverse environment and are an Equal Opportunity Employer WBB is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity WBB participates in E Verify WBB does not accept unsolicited resumes through or from search firms or staffing agencies All unsolicited resumes will be considered the property of WBB and WBB will not be obligated to pay a placement fee
