Posted On07/12/2017 Solutions Architect Silver Spring, MD, US Salary Range : Worker Category :Full Time Regular Job Class SUMMARY The Solution Architect (SA) supports sales productivity and deal flow by securing the "technical close" in complex payment solutions. The SA collaborates with business development, engineering, product and professional services resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision makers.The SA reports to the Director, Professional Services, and will support multiple sales executives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works assigned deals prioritizing effort based on maximizing total impact and as directed by the sales executive(s). Proactively scopes and defines the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers' met and unmet needs and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Merchant Link. Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer organization. Identifies product gaps in customer solution and risks involved in Merchant Link being able to fulfil customer requirements. Coordinates with internal departments including product, support and engineering to validate solution. Secures from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a "technical close." Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities within customer firms, including new product sales and professional services engagements. Collaborates with sales to ensure these opportunities are effectively covered. Maintains deal through-put in early deal-sales process steps. Ensures "no technical surprises" in proposed customer solutions. Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards. Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree with 6-8 years' experience in a technical sales role. Experience in payments related industry and/or network/communications. Knowledge of payment processing, data security, EMV preferred.In-depth knowledge of technology particularly networking and security.Experience in business-to-business sales in retail, restaurant and/or lodging industries.Ability to work with all levels of an organization both internally and with customers.Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Skill in understanding customer needs and providing quality customer service.Payment Card Industry Professional Certification, EMV experience a plus.Demonstrated leadership abilities to deliver the "technical close".Proven sales and negotiation skills.
