We are looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customers focused team, and are currently recruiting for an Automation/Electrical Control Technician to work at our High Street facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The primary responsibilities of this position are designing, installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all electrical components of production and facility equipment. Under minimum supervision, this person must be able to troubleshoot various automated production equipment. Strong experience with programmable controllers, HMI's, control system design and hands-on troubleshooting is required. The person in this position will be required to support/work off-shifts and at different plants as needed. Essential Function and Responsibilities Troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment (motor controls, DC/AC drives and controls, frying and baking equipment, sheeters, extruders, temperature instrumentation, burner systems and controls, packaging machines, electronic scales, programmable logic controllers) etc. Reviews and modifies existing equipment as required to meet safety, quality and production requirements. Strong working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair PC and PLC controlled equipment and components. Programs, troubleshoots and repairs/replaces sensors, scanners, vision systems, motors, variable frequency drives and encoders. Controls system upgrades of existing equipment and integration of new/existing equipment Develops electrical design standards and creation of electrical requirements. Selects and operates required hardware and software needed in the development of control systems. Troubleshoots electrical wiring, relay logic, control and safety circuits using electrical schematics and electronic test equipment. Develops and maintains a current database of all UTZ facility control strategies, platforms and as-built schematic drawings for company reference.
