The selectee for this position serves as an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) in the Weapons Effects and Analysis Branch in the Energetics Technology Division, Systems Engineering Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. You will be required to perform complex, state-of-the-art technical work that is associated with the assessment of underwater warhead/weapon system performance, the analysis therein which shall be supported through the rigorous application of hydrocode and/or additional computational fluid dynamics using advanced theories, concepts and principles.
THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions. This is a Salary Capped Position: The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This in not a high grade position, will not be filled as a high grade position, and unless a high grade authorization is later granted, the salary is limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $123,234).

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading or performing work for the design or development of software applications to include the testing of applications and performing hardware upgrades/replacement of systems.
Examples of qualifying experience include: leading project teams in design/development efforts; developing programming to improve use and availability of systems; analyzing hardware/software performance to identify problem areas and develop solutions; troubleshooting design or software implementation/integration problems. My experience in the information technology field has equipped me with skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

· Development and application of software and computing methods used in large-scale computer codes.
· Planning and coordinating individual and team assignments to meet project goals.
· Provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, peers and sponsors on specific technical issues.
