The Ford Agency is actively seeking a labor/employment law professional to work with one of DC's most respected universities. The Director will interact with all university departments, ensuring employee-related matters are investigated, evaluated, and settled with an objective and unbiased approach. Investigation experience is highly preferred. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in a law firm or other professional services environment with a role focused on labor/employment law and an interest in transitioning to a university setting. This position is available immediately and is a great role for someone looking for a challenging and rewarding role with a great work/life balance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as the lead investigator for all employee relations inquiries and matters
  • Oversee each step of the investigation and resolution process, maintaining full compliancy
  • Initiate and implement policies and processes to establish new and effective methods of compliance training
  • Supervise employee relations staff
  • Requirements Include:

  • 3+ years of relevant labor/employment legal and/or employee relations experience
  • BA/BS degree required, JD preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal/DC employment and labor laws
  • EEO
  • Title IX, VII
  • Direct experience investigating and resolving employment related concerns in a professional setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
