Quantum Research Physicist, Senior

Key Role:

Provide scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) support to the government program manager (PM). Provide technical support and expertise in quantum information science, specifically toward advancing multi-qubit operations. Assimilate and integrate technical inputs from performers and analyze performers' technical deliverables and reports. Conduct independent reviews and summaries of related technical literature and emerging technologies and participate in conferences and workshops related to program technical areas. Develop and document testing methodologies and protocols, ensuring they align with program technology components and assess performer results against program metrics. Coordinate, align, and schedule technology development tasks across multiple performers and perform continuous analysis of technical progress in comparison to planned cost and schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with quantum information research, including experiment or theory, such as quantum computing research

-Experience with providing scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) support to a government program manager

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with postdoc work preferred

-Experience with trapped-ion and superconducting experiments preferred

-Experience with quantum information theory preferred

-Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment

-Ability to write and speak concisely and persuasively

-Ability to convey technical and scientific issues to people with varying levels of expertise accurately

-Secret or TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph preferred

-PhD degree in Physics or an engineering or science field
