We are currently looking for a Sous Chef at our French Country Inn in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We are looking for a Sous Chef who is creative and passionate about cooking who can be a part of our award winning inn. We are a 5 Star and Michelin star restaurant and would like a sous chef to be part of a team creating the best and freshest cuisine with modern techniques and plating. The restaurant is highly rated in Zagat, has 4 diamonds and 3 1/2 stars from the Washingtonian Magazine. We are looking for a sous chef to work with the executive chef to create seasonal, fresh innovative cuisine with modern techniques and modern plating. If you think outside the box, are organized, fast paced and eager to be creative, we are looking for you! The sous chef should be conscientious of food costs, inventory, seasonal offerings, and best and freshest ingredients. We like modern techniques with a classical touch. We are looking for a team player who likes to be creative in all aspects of cooking. Our goal at the inn is to remain in the top restaurants of the greater Washington area. We are looking for a long-term team player with a pleasant, dedicated, positive approach to the job. We do occasional weddings and conferences, as well as have breakfast for our guests. We have a breakfast cook, but the sous chef will be involved in planning menus for breakfast as well as for dinner. We love a positive working environment for all our employees and want someone who is able to work well with others. The sous chef should have knowledge of all modern as well as classic cooking and have a passion for striving to be cutting edge and inventive. Sous vide knowledge and some molecular is used in our classical approach to cooking. We change our menus seasonal and whimsically depending on the best products available. Experience in fine dining restaurants is a plus. We use local and seasonal products, as well as our own herbs, vegetables, and orchard products. We love innovation and support our staff in their creative endeavors. We are forging great relationships with local farmers and want a true farm to table approach. Love to cook and be creative?
