Installs, configures, and troubleshoots phones and network connectivity for DoD customers in the National Capital Region (NCR).  Must be familiar with industry standard cable specifications for Data Network and Telephony.  Experience as Network and Telephone Cable Field Technician desirable.  Experience with industry standard Voice Over IP (VOIP), ISDN, and Analog phone installation required.

 

Tasks include but are not limited to: 

    Meet clients with professional demeanorPlans network installations by using manuals and technical specificationDocuments adds, moves, and changes to system configuration using client documentation standardsTerminate and test new cables to ensure that they are properly incorporated into the system and are in good working orderTest circuits and components to isolate malfunctioning systems by using test metersConfigure and deploy phonesMeet with clients to assist with customer's training and configuration preferences for end devicesWork with Remedy Ticketing System to track adds, moves, and changesReceive Equipment/Material delivered for our VoIP Team and EngineersGo to Client Warehouse to stage Equipment/Material stored and ready it for deliveryInstall phone firmwareInventory Voice Team suppliesReceive bad phones from customers from different location, return to warehouse and ready them for returnTransports equipment between warehouse and customer sites
Background Experience:

 

Minimum 3+ years Field and/or Phone Technician Vocational and/or OJT Training and Certification in Cable and Fiber installation Active Secret clearance.

Education Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

Qualifications 1-3 years of related telecommunications experience.
