The EMMES Corporation, organized in 1977, is a privately owned Contract Research Organization (CRO) located in Rockville, Maryland. EMMES is dedicated to providing statistical and epidemiological expertise, computer systems development, data management, study monitoring, regulatory guidance, and overall operational support to clients engaged in clinical and biomedical research.
EMMES is seeking a Talent Director to direct internal and external staffing activities across the organization including Emmes’ international locations. In completing these activities the Talent Director will work in collaboration with clinical research, corporate services and business department leadership to create the overall staffing plan for the organization.
The Talent Director will report to the Vice President, Human Resources and will lead a team of talent acquisition professionals to manage the full recruitment life cycle.
Work in collaboration with Emmes Project Leaders and Functional Group Managers to manage the internal deployment of talent in accordance with contract, budget and organizational requirements
Develop and direct short and long-term strategic recruiting activities to include proposal of overall corporate staffing targets, goals and objectives, and external recruiting activities to proactively attract and retain talent for all positions at Emmes
Define and track recruitment metrics and tools to assess effectiveness of staffing activities
Lead and manage Emmes staffing department in completion of talent management activities
Serve as subject matter expert to determine and recommended process and solutions regarding talent management and staffing activities
- Develop and maintain professional relationship with appropriate third-party organizations in order to support staffing requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resource management, or related area with a minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources working in a large organization to include 5 years’ experience directing staffing activities domestically and internationally with supervisory experience
Experience staffing in a government contractor environment
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws as it relates to recruitment standards and staffing practices
Proven ability to understand corporate and department concerns and proven ability to proactively develop and implement strategy to address
Experience with ATS and ATS reporting (Taleo Business Edition ATS preferred)
Intermediate level user of Microsoft Office suite of products including, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Strong leadership and negotiation skills
Excellent written and presentation skills
Experience working in a scientific or academic environment; Biotech industry experience preferred
PHR/SPHR certification preferred
